Find a hobby and stick to it.

Child: "What is a hobby?"
Adult: "A hobby is something that
keeps you occupied."

When I was younger, I always believed I had no innate skill. If only I knew about putting “positive in the universe.” Therefore, I decided, since I wasn’t born with any, I would have to learn some skills. That blossomed into exploring hobbies.

However, I would start a hobby and though I enjoyed it, I would stop after something else caught my interest. That had always been my mistake that I’m working on now.

Fast forward to now and I’m back to exploring my hobbies. I enjoy…

  • Crocheting
  • Painting
  • Sewing
  • DIY’s / Crafting
  • Fitness
  • Writing
  • Reading
  • Woodburning and more

However, I obviously can’t do them all at the same time. Therefore, I’ve learned to set a schedule for each hobby.

This brings me to the point of this post, FIND A HOBBY AND STICK TO IT. Once you figure out what you like to do, stay with it.

Hobbies aren’t just about learning a skill, it’s also about occupying your mind in a constructive way. Hobbies keep your mind active and your soul refreshed. It’s also therapeutic in that it can relax you, help you accomplish a goal, and importantly, teach you something new even if it’s just about yourself.

Set Hobby Goals

Is the goal of your hobby to make money? Is it to simply have fun or is your goal to educate people? Why do you like this hobby? These are questions that help you fulfill your hobby goal.

Recently, I signed up for Goodreads to help me fulfill my goal of reading 45 books this year. Reading was a New Year goal that I intend to stick to. The point of my hobby goal was to educate myself.

Setting a goal for my hobby makes me more likely to stick to it and achieve that goal. I can only tell you that this has worked for me in the past, it’s up to you to decide what goal you want for your hobby.

Next post, I'll share one of my DIY
hobby's so stay tuned.

Until next time,
